Caring for Your Whole Person

We are integrated people, made up of our physical, mental, spiritual and social components.
Good self-care involves all four components. Taking a walk, eating a well- balanced diet, resting
well all care for your body. Carrying or wearing a meaningful object, lighting candles and
engaging your soul in helpful ways nurtures your spiritual side. Journaling, reading, or writing
stories of your loved one feeds your mental side. Talking with a friend, volunteering or doing
internet grief support cares well for your social side. Be sure to include all four components in
your self-care activities.
