Grief Rituals Honor Sorrow

“Measure thy life by loss instead of gain, not by the wine drunk but by the wine poured forth. For love’s strength standeth in love’s sacrifice and whoso suffers most hast most to give.” – Ugo Bassi

Looking back on this difficult season of 2020, consider what you have lost and ways you have suffered. Pour those things out from your heart into an artistic expression (poem, song, painting, sculpture …) that represents your gift first to yourself, then perhaps reaches further to others. If possible, wrap your creation in a lovely package and present it – to yourself or to someone else. Let this be a memorial of an important lesson learned in a difficult time; a representation of growth or of hardship.
