Resonance

“Don’t forget about music during the hard times, it will help you.”

These were my dad’s dying words.

Choose a piece of music that speaks to you in the moment. Create an intentional listening space by finding somewhere quiet indoors or in nature, lowering the lights, lighting a candle if you wish and finding a comfortable place to sit. Allow the sound waves to permeate your body and speak to your being. Take note of the sensations and emotions that arise as you are listening. Perhaps there are lyrics or an image created by the music that stand out to you. Document these moments of resonance in a journal or on a piece of paper after the listening session. Revisit and reflect on these moments of resonance as it may change over time, revealing difference layers of meaning.
