Give your Mind a Break

Get out some paints and let your mind relax. Paint large strokes or circles – It doesn’t have to be anything you recognize. Give each color a feeling, if you desire, and pick which colors you want to paint with. For example, blue may stand for sad, or red for anger. What does purple feel like to you? Stand back and see your feelings in a visual way. Give yourself a pat on the back for paying attention to these feelings. When you are ready to do so you can cut this paper into pieces and rearrange the pieces to create some kind of shape or design. Just as grief can rearrange many pieces in our life, we have to find a new way to put the pieces back together when we are ready.
